Don't worry about being worried.
You're heading out on an adventure
and you can always change your mind
along the way and try something else.

And I Quote. . .

"Ask most people what they want out of life and the answer is simple - to be happy. Maybe it's this expectation though of wanting to be happy that just keeps us from ever getting there. Maybe the more we try to will ourselves to state's of bliss, the more confused we get - to the point where we don't recognize ourselves. Instead we just keep smiling - trying to be the happy people we wish we were. Until it eventually hits us, it's been there all along. Not in our dreams or our hopes but in the known, the comfortable, the familiar."

Mahalo Hawaii

My recent trip to Hawaii was one I will never forget. I said good-bye to my dear Aunty who ended her brave battle with breast cancer, spent quality time with my family and embraced all the amazing sites and people of Hawaii.

People leave leis on the King Kamehameha statue in celebration of Kamehameha Day, June 11.

June 14, the day after my Aunty's passing. "
Those we love don't go away,
they walk beside us every day,
unseen, unheard, but always near,
still loved, still missed and very dear.

Fancy // Mineralogy

Mineralogy jewelry is a collection of limited edition and one-of-a-kind jewelry designed and handcrafted by Chicago local and School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate, Theresa Cowan.  Inspired by an earth science class lecture of minerals, Cowan began her creations. Mineral specimens are the focal point of the intricate collection.  Each piece is made impressionistically with the experimentation with the materials of the basis of the design process.  Cowan looks to enhance what nature has left and other times, chooses to let the object stand alone as a fortification of its natural state.  The majority of the minerals used are uncut and unpolished to display their unique characteristics.  Cowan also assimilates the use of obscure elements in her jewelry, such as animal bones and prehistorical animal teeth, some dating back to 2 million years ago.  These styles are produced in limited quantities, with each individual piece unique in its own aspects due to nature's wonderful aberrations.  Shop Mineralogy at The Fancy Affair.

Art and Flea // Honolulu

Almost two years ago, Aly Ishikuni, Tiffany Tanaka, and Nicole Franco brought something to Honolulu that was creative, fresh and fun. They are the creators of a monthly event called Art and Flea which gave Hawaii artists and local vendors an outlet to grow their businesses and sell their unique creations. They've also given eclectic shoppers an awesome place to do some shopping, while listening to cool music and support local vendors.

I was really happy to be in Hawaii for this event. June's event was held in Chinatown in Smith Street park but it's usually held at Fresh Cafe. I hope that the event grows bigger as time goes on because it's so nice to see Hawaii have something like this for local artists and for shoppers!
