A video of our the TFA mascot, Mia the Cat.

It was an exciting moment when Mia received a reject tissue ball from a recent baby shower my mom and I threw.

Check This Out. . .

One of Los Angeles most prolific theatrical organizations, Cornerstone Theater Company kicks off their new play Café Vida starting tonight!  Written by Lisa Loomer, directed by Michael John Garcés, and created in partnership with Homeboy Industries and Homegirl Café.  Chabela and Luz are rival homegirls ready to leave the life and begin anew at Café Vida — the only place in the city that gives young women and their troubled pasts a genuine second chance to start a new life free of violence. It’s here that these former enemies choose la vida over la muerte as they learn to compost, tend a garden, julienne an onion, and rock your lunch order with a smile and a heaping side of transformation.

*One of my best friends, the very talented Daniel Penilla will be showing off his acting skills in this original work.  Please come out and show your support

Weekend Getaway//Boston

It's been a new tradition that my brother Jon visits the east coast in April every year so that he and Scotty can go to the home opener for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.  Sometimes I go to the game, but even if I don't, I still always tag along for the trip because 1.) I love the seafood. It's the best!, 2.) I know the city well enough that I never get lost when I'm on my own, 3.) I am a fan of America's Most Beloved Ballpark, and 4.)  well, Boston is just a pretty cool city period!  Despite the annoying and unnecessary drama we had with the hotel (Westin Copley Place.  Worst customer service ever!), the trip was awesome as per usual.  Just a 4-hour bus ride from NYC, Boston is one my fancy favorite picks for a weekend getaway.  We usually stick to the same plan every time we go to Boston and I'm totally okay with the routine. Although next time we plan to go to Salem (yup, the witch town), whale watching, visit more museums, and the Duck Tour. I know that Duck Tour sounds silly, but I'm intrigued with the "by land and by sea in a World War II amphibious landing vehicle".  Anyway, here are some of my favorite places to eat and play in this historic city!

 Clockwise from top left:
San Francisco Cioppino at Atlantic Fish Company (I get it every time. So good!)
♥ Lobster Tails and Cannolis at Mike's Pastry (A+++ spot)
♥ Lobster Roll with Fries at Neptune Oyster (Best Lobster Roll Ever!)
♥ Assorted Italian Cookies at Mike's Pastry (Beautiful and tasty little delights)

 Clockwise from top left:
Pretty street lights somewhere in the Downtown area.
The North End! Italians represent! Here is where you will find Neptune Oyster and Mike's Pastry Shop
My brother Jon being arrested for. . .(haha JK. He's just pretending!)
Cobblestone street from the North End heading to Fennel Hall/Quincy Market

  Clockwise from top left:
Mini bats at the Red Sox Pro Shop.
That's me being a bear with the Bruins bear claws at the Bruins Pro Shop.
Cute little swan magnets at a souvenir shop at Quincy Market.
And of course, a shot of Fenway Park!

♥ Other noteworthy places to check out are Boston Commons, Newbury Street, Legal Seafood, the Boston Aquarium, Harvard, and Beacon Hill.

And one last thing. . .
Today is the 100th Anniversary of the most historic ballpark in America!
HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY to FENWAY PARK!!!

♥ Simply Adorned ♥

The printer drawer jewelry display has become one of the newest and most popular way to display and organize jewelry. We absolutely love it and want one of our own. Not only do we love it because it keeps our fancy adornments all in one place, but because it looks like a work of art on display. Let's refer to it as an interactive art display. They are often sold at flea markets as well as Etsy. It could also be the perfect DIY summer project. If you don't have time for that which let's face it most of us don't, you can check out some of our favorite ones here. Don't worry about filling up those little cubbies, we're sure you'll find plenty of loves at The Fancy Affair to complete your work of art!

 Happy Monday Fancy Friends!
We hope you all had a nice weekend!
We thought we start sharing the works of some of our closest friends.
I mean I must say between me and Janel, we have some pretty amazing and talented friends.
I wanted to share this thoughtful photograph taken by a very good friend of mine Mr. Javier Moreno.
He obviously thought of us when he had this idea (hint: the heart) and well the beautiful scenery too.
And with the help of one of this photographer friends, this magical heart appeared. Pretty rad huh?

We Heart Fancy Rocks!

The creative woman behind 'Mineralogy' is Theresa Cowan, a fancy favorite jewelry designer who is based out of Chicago, IL.  Mineralogy jewelry is a collection of limited edition and one-of-a-kind jewelry designed and handcrafted by the Chicago local and School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate.  Inspired by an earth science class lecture of minerals, Cowan began her creations.  Mineral specimens are the focal point of the intricate collection.  Each piece is made impressionistically with the experimentation with the materials of the basis of the design process.  Cowan looks to enhance what nature has left and other times, chooses to let the object stand alone as a fortification of its natural state.  The majority of the minerals used are uncut and unpolished to display their unique characteristics.  Cowan also assimilates the use of obscure elements in her jewelry, such as animal bones and prehistorical animal teeth, some dating back to 2 million years ago.  These styles are produced in limited quantities, with each individual piece unique in its own aspects due to nature's wonderful aberrations.  The Fancy Affair is fortunate to have discovered this truly unique and stylish line of jewelry to feature on their website.  Take a peak at these fancy rocks by Mineralogy. . .
For more information on each piece, please click on the image above. xoxo.

If you could do one last thing for someone you love, what would it be?
Say it, do it, don’t wait. Nothing lasts forever."

We are crazy about dogs especially when you see a
dozen of them walking the streets of NYC all at the same time.
I couldn't help myself and had to take a couple of photos.
How adorable are these ankle biters?!?
