"We All Get Dressed Up For Bill" - Anna Wintour
Last night, I watched a great documentary "Bill Cunningham New York." Bill Cunningham is an 80-year-old photographer for the New York Times, known for his weekly column "On The Street." He's not about taking amazing photos but more about capturing fashion and lifestyle. He is a legend and he is out on the streets every day, weaving through New York traffic on his bike, spotting trends before people even know it's a trend. He has devoted his whole life to fashion. The evidence is shown in his tiny little studio at Carnegie Hall where in place of furniture with the exception of a twin size bed, he has file cabinets along the walls and in between where he has every negative of every picture he's ever taken. I won't give it all away for those who haven't seen this amazing film. If you haven't seen this documentary yet, definitely take some time to watch it.

Happy Monday!
The first few orders started trickling in as soon as the site launched. It was such a rewarding feeling to finally open up The Fancy Affair and let everyone see what we were working on. We seriously can't thank everyone enough for all the love and support! There is so much more in store. New products are on the way!!!

Live the life you've imagined
The past few weeks have been very crazy for us. It's been a lot of late nights and hard work! With one of us in NY and other in LA, there is a nice chunk of a time difference but we made it work. Jen would wake up in NY and do some solo projects. A couple hours later, I would meet Jen online and we'd start our day of ordering, discussing plans, designing our web page, searching for new designers, and whatever else came our way. Then Jen would call it a night and I would be up doing work on my own. Let's not forget the reoccurring case of the internet window shopping distraction, where we would link each other to clothes or beauty products that we were obsessing over. Oh yeah, and then there was the night where we spent almost the whole night watching You Tube videos of flash mob wedding proposals. Through phone calls, texting, ichatting, gchatting, skyping, faxing, emailing, snail mailing and one day of getting to work together face to face, it somehow came together. We're not going to lie, we are exhausted but the road to the opening of our online boutique has been an amazing experience and completely worth all the blood, sweat and tears. We know that this is just the start of all the hard work that comes a long with having a business and we are so excited and ready for it! This is our dream come true and we are so happy to share our dream with you! With that said, we are officially open for business!! Wow, what an amazing feeling.

Uniqlo is finally branching out of NYC! They are granting Los Angeles with it's very own store. We don't know when but there's been a posting on their site for a "manager-in-training"!! Anyone else as excited as I am??

We get by with a little help from our friends. . .
The magical married duo Eric Anthony and Rachana Singh Anthony were on the set with Janel this weekend for a two day photo shoot. Eric was the director and fashion photographer while Rachana and Janel modeled all the jewelry. The girls can definitely check 'hand model' off their bucket list! They killed with their poses! A special thank you to Eric for having extensive experience in photography! He took some awesome pictures of everything. We can't wait to share them with you. Bi-Coastal Love
It's a long distance relationship, but Janel and I find many ways to make it work everyday. I'm in NY and she's in LA. We are constantly on the computer researching, emailing, ordering, skyping and having many a.d.d. moments. We have become the queens of multi-tasking.
Every time we complete something successful for TFA we would finish with "we're really doing it! there's no turning back!" And now we're one week away, we are doing it and sharing it all with you!

We have this little obsession with Ryan Gosling. (seriously check out the movie Drive and its soundtrack immediately!) With that said, I had to share this creation by Chicago-based artist, Katherine Kalnes. I mean 'wow' it really does look like him. Talk about artistic ability. It looks too good to eat! This panqueque definitely looks extra delicioso!

An Early Christmas
I just got back from Honolulu and while spending quality time with my mom and vacationing, I was on the scout for some amazing local jewelry designers. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Hawaii has some great jewelry designers!! It's so exciting to see that Honolulu is finally getting some awesome boutiques. They also have a monthly art and flea market which I was really sad I wasn't in town for. Keep it coming Hawaii! Aloha!
