Holiday Renegade Craft Fair
December 9th and 10th is the Holiday Renegade Craft fair in Los Angeles at Los Angeles State Historic Park. I'll be there, shopping and scouting the place for some new jewelry designers to carry at the boutique.
If you have never been to the Renegade Craft Fair, I highly suggest spending your Saturday or Sunday over there. The summer Renegade Craft Fair this past July was so amazing but it was hot which can make for an uncomfortable shopping experience. It will be nice to explore this upcoming fair without bumping into sweaty people. It's a great place to get your Christmas gifts or just browse and see all the talented crafters.
I'm looking forward to seeing all the jewelry designers there!

I just had the best birthday weekend EVER!!! So many surprises and so much love! I got such a warm welcoming to the 30s club. I seriously hit the jackpot of having the most amazing people in my life! A video montage by keeks of all of my bestest friends in the entire world, a surprise visit from keeks all the way from CA, tons of phone calls, emails, texts, posts, and an extra special blog post from Janel! I always knew I was a lucky person, but oh man this is just way more than luck. It's love and expressing it. My life would not be complete without my friends, family, and my love. You all have made such a big impact on my life and in my heart and without you I don't think I would be where I am today. My dad would be so proud and happy of the path I have taken in life with each and every one of you. He always told me to stay a honest and loyal friend and from that I have all of you in my life. "We All Get Dressed Up For Bill" - Anna Wintour
Last night, I watched a great documentary "Bill Cunningham New York." Bill Cunningham is an 80-year-old photographer for the New York Times, known for his weekly column "On The Street." He's not about taking amazing photos but more about capturing fashion and lifestyle. He is a legend and he is out on the streets every day, weaving through New York traffic on his bike, spotting trends before people even know it's a trend. He has devoted his whole life to fashion. The evidence is shown in his tiny little studio at Carnegie Hall where in place of furniture with the exception of a twin size bed, he has file cabinets along the walls and in between where he has every negative of every picture he's ever taken. I won't give it all away for those who haven't seen this amazing film. If you haven't seen this documentary yet, definitely take some time to watch it.

Happy Monday!
The first few orders started trickling in as soon as the site launched. It was such a rewarding feeling to finally open up The Fancy Affair and let everyone see what we were working on. We seriously can't thank everyone enough for all the love and support! There is so much more in store. New products are on the way!!!

Live the life you've imagined
The past few weeks have been very crazy for us. It's been a lot of late nights and hard work! With one of us in NY and other in LA, there is a nice chunk of a time difference but we made it work. Jen would wake up in NY and do some solo projects. A couple hours later, I would meet Jen online and we'd start our day of ordering, discussing plans, designing our web page, searching for new designers, and whatever else came our way. Then Jen would call it a night and I would be up doing work on my own. Let's not forget the reoccurring case of the internet window shopping distraction, where we would link each other to clothes or beauty products that we were obsessing over. Oh yeah, and then there was the night where we spent almost the whole night watching You Tube videos of flash mob wedding proposals. Through phone calls, texting, ichatting, gchatting, skyping, faxing, emailing, snail mailing and one day of getting to work together face to face, it somehow came together. We're not going to lie, we are exhausted but the road to the opening of our online boutique has been an amazing experience and completely worth all the blood, sweat and tears. We know that this is just the start of all the hard work that comes a long with having a business and we are so excited and ready for it! This is our dream come true and we are so happy to share our dream with you! With that said, we are officially open for business!! Wow, what an amazing feeling.
